Thoughtful and compassionate crisis response can lead to positive transformations in our world. Ending the ivory trade and alleviating human-elephant conflict is an outcome whereby the lives of some 35,000 brutally murdered elephants would be yearly spared. Trained in critical analysis as a Visual Culture historian, my understanding of the power of imagery as it intersects with the lived world informs my elephant advocacy strategies.
